The “World Bank and iRAP helping save lives in Latin America – BIGRS 2020-25” was a webinar series delivered in December 2020 to help build capacity in Latin American for those interested in using the iRAP methodology to eliminate high-risk roads  unlock the economic benefits of 3-star or higher roads through results-based financing, and meeting the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

This webinar focused on road safety experience and lessons learned, and how to use the iRAP methodology to carry out road safety assessments across the region.

As part of the outcomes of this webinar series, we have edited two videos of the guest’s presentations focussing on their experience with iRAP methodology in the LAC region.

One of the videos, called Road safety performance monitoring – a SEMIC experience in Mexico, was presented by Jesus Tapia, a Road Safety Engineer at SEMIC. Watch the video here.

The other video, called iRAP methodology on concession highways in Brazil – a Pavesys experience, was presented by Shanna Lucchesi, the Road Safety Coordinator at Pavesys. Watch the video here.

Note that the videos were presented in Spanish and have closed captions in English.

The World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) partners with iRAP to improve road safety under the Bloomberg Philanthropy Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS), 2020-2025. The goals of the program are to reduce fatalities and serious injuries from road accidents in 30 cities in 15 countries.

iRAP has been recording all the videos of the free webinar series and made them available to you on our website.
