Description

There is growing demand and use of the iRAP model in urban areas. Intersection crashes are one of the most common types of crashes in urban environments. The greater levels of complexity and density of intersections in urban areas highlight them as an important urban safety issue.  Initial priorities include the enhanced reporting of intersections and the related work on intersection stereotypes occurring in Australia. Extension of the intersection model to capture the range of scenarios experienced around the world and their safety performance is a focus of the work.
