iRAP Forum at FIA Conference Week
iRAP will host a forum on the Decade of Action for Road Safety in May 2010 at the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) annual conference. The FIA's members represent more than 100 million motorists and their families worldwide.
During recent years, FIA clubs, the FIA Foundation and iRAP have together built unstoppable momentum for road assessment programmes, which are now recognised at the United Nations and by all development banks.
Road Assessment Programmes are now active in more than 60 countries throughout Europe, Asia, the Pacific, North and South America, and Africa.
Participants in the forum will see how:
- Clubs in high income countries such as the United Kingdom and Netherlands are using RAP in their national road safety strategies in the lead up to the Decade of Action.
- Clubs in low- and middle-income countries are enabling the use of world leading technology to create safety action plans and are working with development banks and governments.
- a sustainable Road Assessment Programme can be established with iRAP training, technology and support.
- FIA member clubs such as ADAC, RACC, FIB, AMSS and AAA are supporting sister clubs to develop programmes.
FIA Conference Week will be held in Como, Italy in May 2010.
