Asian Development Bank to Tackle Road Safety

Global Road Safety Ambassador Michelle Yeoh has urged multilateral development banks to make road safety a greater priority, and use their vast lending capacity as a force for good.

The call came at the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) Transport Forum and launch of the Sustainable Transport Initiative at its headquarters in Manila. The Initiative promises significant and sustained action on road safety in the region.

The event also saw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the FIA Foundation and the ADB, in which the two organisations agree to work together to promote road safety, and the launch of the Global Helmet Vaccine Initiative for the Philippines, involving the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP).
